Habitat III 2016 - Towards a New Urban Agenda

Ecuador will be the center of attention for urban development in October by housing two interesting conferences: 

Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, will take place in Quito, Ecuador, from 17 – 20 October 2016.

Just before the beginning of Habitat III, from 12th to 15th October in Riobamba Ecuador, Ecomateriales will take place discussing the role of green building materials in the new urban agenda.

On 29th September in Paris, the OECD and the African Union Commision invite to the 16th International Economic Forum on Africa which will discuss the role cities play for Africa's econnomic transformation, how this can be planned inclusively and how it can be financed.

Durabric and Drones – A combination of tomorrow’s technologies

The LafargeHolcim and Norman Foster Foundation are pairing up to create a revolutionary building, the “Droneport”, which is built with LafargeHolcim’s innovative Durabric.

The two progressive technologies combined are going to serve rural communities’ logistic and health needs.

Their impressive pilot is now showcased at the Architecture Biennale in Venice until November 27th 2016.
